Corinne Purcell Artist Statement.

‘It’s always been a love of the outdoors’

Anytime spent exploring the great outdoors has been greatly valued throughout my life, the delight of being amongst mother nature, appreciating all the elements, taking in all the treasures there; creates a quiet and calmness within that helps inspire me to do what I love most, Create.

Drawing was my first love, then painting. I sold my first painting when I was 11 years old and this is what I feel gave me the confidence to take the opportunities that presented themselves to me and to look at things with a different perspective. I work in many mediums these days and enjoy mixing things up so that in the end the work is unique.

Whilst I will continue to commission pieces for resin, I have been developing my use of mixed media and am having a lot of fun exploring new mediums in different ways. Recent works have been large scale, oils and acrylics, inks over built up backgrounds and the results have been fantastic in creating more depth to my work, I have noticed a bit of a tree change within the paintings and I am painting figures within the works to enhance the perspective and create a sense of belonging. <
